Name: Yukina/ 雪菜
Appearance: Yu Yu Hakusho
Variation: Default
Description: Yukina is an Ice Maiden and twin sister of Hiei, although she is unaware of their relation. As a member of a demonic family of winter spirits, she produces beautiful jewels through her tears. When she found out about her brother who was cast from the Ice Kingdom she escaped to the Human World.

Worn at: AnimeNYC 2021.

Why I chose this costume:
Yu Yu Hakusho is one of my favorite animes. I recently reread it and had been watching the Stage Play and felt inspired to cosplay more characters. I actually had been working on the stage play version of Botan first, but Yukina was easier to bring to a convention. I also liked how her wig was translated into a more realistic hairstyle than the super poofy 90’s look, but that’s just a personal preference! Marina Tanoue is so cute as Yukina and everyone in the stage play is really well cast.

Marina Tanoue as Yukina.

Mechanics of the outfit:
Like the stage play, I wanted to keep the costume as authentic as possible and more on the realistic side since that was what I was basing it off. So a lot had to do with learning how to properly wear a kimono and tie an obi (practicing kitsuke, the art of dressing in kimono). I purchase the kimono, obiage, under kimono, tabi socks from Kimono Yukata Market Sakura. The obi, obijime, zori were purchase from Japan Yahoo! Auction. These were all auction bids so I can’t really link a specific shop, but for all the kimono accessories, I bought them from KIMONO WAKU. I did buy winter zori as well, (like the ones she wears when she’s first introduced) but didn’t have time to paint them.

You can get some great deals from bidding and sometimes pay much less for second hand items than purchasing them new. Sometimes the second hand items are new/unworn. The reason I didn’t purchase the kimono accessories via bidding was because there’s specific versions of items I wanted and there are a lot of items used when wearing kimono; it just didn’t feel worthwhile trying to outbid someone on something if I was still going to have to purchase x item elsewhere. If you’re not super picky or just a beginner learning, there a lot of great kitsuke kits you can get for cheaper than purchasing the items individually. I could go into specific in another post if anyone is interested, but it would take too long here lol.

The proxy I used was DEJAPAN. They are super easy to use for the most part, but I found it easiest to go to the actual website you want to search from instead of searching via their website (and just pasting in the specific listing into their website). It’s easier to click specific search criteria (price, category, new arrival/shortest bidding time, etc) via Yahoo! Auction. DEJAPAN’s website has less search criteria you can click and unless you search something specific, it will search everything and you can only look one page at a time. I prefer to open all the pages at once to search so it was easier to look on Yahoo! Auction. Again, I can write a guide if anyone is interested, it’s a lot to explain here.

Just to be clear, I’m not super fluent in Japanese and certainly not all the kanji, but the technology for Google Translate and to translate the website itself has come a long way! If I’m trying to look up a specific anime or word, I’ll just look it up on Wikipedia and change the language to Japanese. #hacks So if you know 0% Japanese, you can still be able to navigate it.

For the undergarment (nagajuban) I sewed the red collar from some fabric I had (that I also used on the hair piece). Although now I think I need another kimono underwear because I…. don’t want to take the collar off now LOL.

Fair warning, putting a kimono is not easy and I had to practice several times to get it correct. For most of it, I followed Kimono-Sunao‘s videos. Most of her videos don’t have English subtitles, but I think you can more or less figure it out from the video? Posting the videos I watched because it can be hard to search if you don’t know Japanese.

Also just wanted to clarify again if you’re buying a costume that’s tailored to fit you, you most likely will not need to do any of these. Kimonos, in general, are larger/longer than the average person, the purpose is that people of different sizes can wear it. So the way it’s tied is to fit the wearer.

Also, before anyone comes for me, I am not claiming to be super experiences or knowledgeable in kitsuke or kimonos. My knowledge comes from what other professionals are posting online.

How to Wear Kimono → She goes in-depth about how to wear the kimono, but may not be helpful if you don’t understand it.
How to Wear Furisode → Or if you’re impatient, you can watch the furisode version, it would just be without the long sleeves. The concept is basically the same.
How to tie Obijime → I used a flat obijime so this was especially helpful
How to tie Obiage → I loosely followed the beginning of this one, because the way she folds it is specific to the design on the obiage, but since mine was solid, it was less important to center the motif.
Troubleshooting undergarment collar → This is tricky LOL Sometimes by the time wear the kimono the undergarment will shift.
Items You’ll Need to Wear Kimono → I more or less used everything in this video, except I didn’t use the obi-makura 帯枕 (obi pillow) (the type of obi I did didn’t require one) and used some elastic versions of the koshi-himo 腰ひも (inner belt) instead of the ties like she shows. I also used a korin belt コーリンベルト for the collar as a personal preference.

Not from Kimono-Sunao, but I made a mistake of buying a Nagoya obi instead of Fukuro obi. Think I was tunnel visioning at this point and didn’t read the auction correctly. Most of them are tied in a taiko musubi (drum knot), the square looking knot, and I wanted a bow because that’s how it was tied in the stage play. But I ended up finding a video from 木ノ花 on YouTube that wasn’t too hard to tie. Though I had to redo it several times to get the tie proportion correct.

Odaiko Ribbon Obi Knot

The wig I purchased off Amazon. I wanted to get one from Arda but they were on backorder at the time and I didn’t want to wait because I was also buying my Botan wig at the same time. I bought the wig from ROLECOS and was surprisingly impressed with the quality. It was very soft and quite thick; I had to even cut some of the volume out when I was doing the ponytail. Even though it said, “Prime,” it was being shipped out of China so it took a few weeks to receive. Maybe Amazon has some in stock now, but the one I purchased took a while. The wig is definitely teal like how they show it, but sometimes flares blue in photos.

I purchased a styrofoam ball for the back ponytail. I didn’t have time to go to the craft store and Walmart only sold it in this size (3.8″) so I shaved a bit off so it was smaller. In hindsight it probably didn’t really matter since it’s not big enough to be seen from the front. This was my first time stubbing a wig and it was terrifying LOL. But I learned a lot and feel a little more confident doing it again next time. I think if I can take the wig apart, I want to redo it. I bought a canvas wig head that was my size, but I made the mistake of not stretching and pinning it to the form while working on the wig, so it ended up being slightly smaller. I made the bangs a little too long so I was able to have the wig sit a bit further back so it wasn’t as noticeable.

I used some of the extra wefts from the ponytail to make into the ahoge and miscellaneous pieces sticking up and secured it with hot glue. I opted for separate pieces because the way the wig was constructed, the mesh/cap underneath could be seen if I tried to just spike it. I used Got 2b Glued hairspray for the ends. I saw a trick on how you can use a hair crimper iron to add volume and I think I will try it when I go back to fix the wig.

For her hair piece, I used some red fabric I had and made some rectangles that rounded into a point at the ends as shown. I added some wire on the inside to the width of the piece. This was so it could curl it to follow the direction of my head. The fabric I used was already on the stiffer side so I didn’t need to add any interfacing or make the wire into the shape of the hair piece. I had the wire on hand, but you want to use a gauge that’s high enough that it will hold it’s shape and not warp. I used a round-nose plier to make a circle at the two ends to secure it and so it couldn’t accidentally poke through the fabric. I didn’t sew the wire end to the fabric because if you make it the same size or even a pinch bigger, it should fit snugly.

Edit: Since writing this post, I ended up going back and redoing her wig, which I highly never recommend. Taking apart the wig after I had hot glued it together was tedious. Fortunately the wig was heat resistant, so I was able to just straighten the ends that looked wonky. It ended up looking way better and should hopefully fit better. Unfortunately you can see some of the glue parts from the previous version, but it’s whatever. I used clear caulk this time with minimal hot glue. I cut the bangs shorter and restyled them. Kids, never take a somewhat styled wig and just toss it in a wig bag LOL. I tried the crimping method on the side pieces and I’m not sure I like them. I think the wig fibers are too silky/soft so it was hard to tease without just combing it all out. Last wig pic is the new one!

Personal Feelings:
Wow, even though the costume was bought pieces, I learned so much about kitsuke and kimonos in general and it was challenge, but so much fun. I had always wanted to own some kimono/furisode growing up but they were always super expensive or I just had other priorities. It was really exciting being able to do it, even in cosplay form. Wig styling has always been challenging for me so I usually just avoid it LOL. But I’m glad I pushed myself to step outside of my comfort zone, even though the wig seems “simple.” It kind of made me realize Yukina is a pretty minor character for the most part. But working on the cosplay and finding all the perfect pieces for her really made me love her more.

I ordered from this seller before and I really liked their wigs so I ordered from them again. This time I ordered a wig for Paddra Nsu-Yeul from Final Fantasy XIII-2 and to revamp my Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho wig.

One thing I learned is that, not all eBay sellers TELL YOU that they provide the tracking number. In my last purchase I ordered 4 wigs. (Two from cosplaydna2009, one from cosplayanimewigs and huangleijing_996.) They ALL provided tracking numbers, but I usually don’t check if it doesn’t say it in the “Updates” e-mail you receive. However I discovered if you go to the eBay Order Details for your purchases, some do provide tracking numbers. In my case, they all did, they just didn’t e-mail me to tell me.

When I saw the Kurama wig, usually the wig is wrapped in a black mesh, which ALWAYS throws me off. It doesn’t help that the lighting in my room is poor so I thought the wig was more of a burgundy color. But I found it to be a beautiful deep red. The fibers are super soft and I absolutely love the quality. While I still like the color of my original wig, I absolutely loved the quality of my new Kurama wig~

Rating: ★★★★★/ 5 out of 5.

Pros: – Tracking number provided. – Came with free wig cap per wig.

Cons:- None.

Price: $25.60 (Silver/Grey) + $22.40 (Red) + free shipping = $48.00
Item Location: China.
Time for Arrival: 11 days.

If you would like to purchase this wig, you can search “153 New Long Dark Red Cosplay Party Wavy Wig,” “088 New Long silver gray Cosplay Party Wig 100cm,” or check out cosplaydna2009’s eBay profile.

On the weekend of November 18th, Euphie and I went to AnimeUSA!

Thursday
I took the bus to Euphie’s house. We left her house around 4:30 and drove to the convention center. We weren’t able to get our badges yet so we got into our hotel and wandered around for a bit. We didn’t cosplay that day since we figured we’d get there pretty late. (It’s a 3 hour car ride.) So after moving all our stuff and getting settled in, we went to sleep.

Friday
We woke up early, and I got into Umi. This was the first time wearing her and I was pretty happy with the way she came out. She was a last minute cosplay and I had the blue fabric for her left over from another Umi costume.. So I figured, why not? I didn’t have a 3rd costume anyways. We got our badges and wandered in the Dealer’s room. I saw my friend Carrie at her Athena’s Wink booth and I said hi. Then we went to judge at 2:30. It was a super easy judging compared to Otakon. There were barely any people because we didn’t have our own room, instead we were in a panel room. A lot of people came in mistaking our room for the ‘Mythology to Pokemon’ panel.

Afterwards we wandered around for a bit and I changed into my Tifa wig. We were attending the ball, I lent Euphie my red dress and I had the same one in black. We went as modern Wallmarket Aerith and Tifa ^^. We only stayed there for 20 minutes before we left. Then Euphie got changed into Aerith and I got changed into Magnet Miku, with the wig and headphones lent from Lunatique, as she as my Magnet Luka ^^

We hung around at the Host Club for a bit. Then I helped Euphie out of her wig and hung out with a few other friends before heading in for the night.

Saturday
I changed into Umi again because I was supposed to have an early shoot with TheBigTog. For some reason I was extremely drained and could barely even get out of bed. After I dressed, I went straight to judging. At one point during judging there was no one there, Daniela and I went to get food. I was standing in front of the door and at one point felt someone standing behind me. I turned around and saw a super tall, super accurate Professor Snape. Admittedly, I was EXTREMELY intimidated. I embarrassingly laughed a “I’m sorry,” before moving out of the way. He was extremely in character which I enjoyed, but he was pretty nice xD

After judging, I went back to my room to change into Tifa, then I wandered for a bit. Then I went back stage to the masquerade. Euphie did her song and she was sooo good <33 Then we handed out awards. Afterwards we hung around with some people and such. We even did 360 degree rotation photos. ^^

Sunday
Sunday was a pretty short day. I woke up, put on Kurama and put all my stuff back in Euphie’s car. We met up with Yusuke, Koenma, and Yukina and the proceeded to our photoshoot with TheBigTog. We ended up shooting for 2 hours OTL. Afterwards we left and went home. Then I went home haha.

Some shout outs to new people I saw: ChibiTifa Cosplay, Vintage Aerith Cosplay, Fire Lily Cosplay, Eminence Rain, Jenni, Burloire, and everyone else I saw ❤

Saturday

I went to Sakura Matsuri this weekend! I went Saturday after my drawing class. I wore a 90% completed Rei Ayanami in her school uniform. The only things that weren’t finished were the buttons and collar.

The highlight was that we went to “Tasty Hand Pulled Noodles” in Chinatown. It was featured on ‘The Best Thing I Ever Ate’ on Food Network. That and I was really craving fresh noodles. The place was cheap (price-wise) and delicious! I will definitely have to go back there again in the future.

Sunday

Sunday was tons more fun. I decided to wear Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho before the fashion show because after having a conversation about it with Keith, we decided on him since I partially wanted to test shoot my new contact lens. Tifa with blue or green eyes doesn’t make sense, nor does Rei with blue or green eyes (and I would’ve wanted to fix the skirt..)

To quickly cap my day: I didn’t sleep all night because I was finishing up Yuna. The El Dorado staff came out pretty good but pretty rickety. Went to the festival with Kevin and Keith. Wore Kurama. Shot with Keith for the lenses test. Forgot craft foam/poster board for Yuna’s obi. My friend, Kadishu, ended up buying some for me♥. Met up with Philip. Hung out with them.

Shot for a bit. Shot FOR Keith for a bit. Made a “We love Mario Bueno” sign for Mario Bueno. “Embarrassed” the poor kid. Embarrassed myself by attracting much attention to myself with said sign. Went to get ready for the fashion show at 2:30. Changed into Yuna. Waited backstage at 3:45 to go up. Hung out with all teh models until the show.

Modeling in the Cosplay Fashion show. Got bombarded by people photographing me as Yuna and Mario Bueno as Tidus. Got kicked out xD Shot a bit more, went home.

All in all, this is going to sound a bit cheesy, but I feel really blessed. I’m glad that I could’ve met so many great friends through cosplaying. Being at the fashion show today and meeting so many talented people is truly inspiring. Everyone was so sweet and nice!

Being around other cosplayers who share the same passion as you and are about the same level is just.. amazing. It makes me want to push myself harder and challenge myself to become better. I saw a lot of friends and made some new ones!

cosplay, kurama, yu yu hakusho

Name: Kurama / 蔵馬
Appearance: Yu Yu Hakusho
Variation: Dark Tournament Outfit
Description: Kurama is perhaps the most calculating, cunning, and analytical member in the series and of the main characters. He is able to carefully look past his feelings and see the real situation at hand, demonstrated on more than one occasion. In battle, while his preference is to concoct strategies based on deducing his opponents abilities, he is quite cutthroat when the need arises.

Worn at: AnimeNEXT 2010, Northern NJ Cosplay Picnic 2010, Sakura Matsuri 2011, AnimeUSA 2011.

Why I chose this costume:
If anyone knows me, my all time favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, despite the fact that I have yet to actually finish the series.. But my favorite character is Kurama. I don’t want to go crazy fan girl, but I absolutely love him. I’m going to stop there. I think I had originally wanted to make his school uniform, but was discouraged because.. well it is essentially a school uniform. So I decided to use one of his dark tournament oufits.

Mechanics of the outfit:
My mom helped me cut out the pattern, and sewed the collar. I sewed the blue lining and everything else. The white shirt I already had. For the pants, I took white sweatpants and sewed an elastic band on the inside. The waistband was the remaining fabric from the lining, which I pinned in. The shoes were Tai Chi shoes that I had in my house. For the contacts, I used Dolly green. More information on the wig can be seen here.

Personal Feelings:
I had fun with this cosplay haha. I met a bunch of crazy fan girls.I’m glad I got to cosplay as Kurama. ^^ For more images, check out my deviantart!

On August 14th, I went to the 2010 Northern New Jersey Cosplay Picnic in Chatham, New Jersey. The picnic was held at Passaic River County Park. It was held by the lovely Tanya Wheelock and her sister Autumn Wheelock. Where do I begin to describe this experience..

This was the first cosplay picnic I have ever attended. Overall, it was a lot of fun! It was only a small group of people, so it wasn’t too bad. Getting there was probably the worst. There is no address for the place. The main road you take winds around. It took us at least.. half an hour of getting lost?

But all in all I had a blast! I invited my photographer friend I met at AnimeNEXT, TheBigTog. If you remember, he shot my [first] Tifa Lockhart photoshoot. ^^ Anyways, I did two photoshoots. The first, my friend (the Hiei from AnimeNEXT) wanted to do a “shipping” photoshoot for Hiei and Kurama. So I went to the picnic dressed as Kurama.

Then after the photoshoot was done, I debuted Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid, with her outfit from “Magnet,” while my friend cosplayed as Luka Megurine. We debuted the headphones and waistband that I made ^^ I will be making a tutorial for the headphones soon!

After I did my Miku x Luka photoshoot, I just hung around with everyone and we went our separate ways. I made a bunch of new friends ^^ I had fun haha. Will definitely go next year if there is another one. I’m going to upload some photos from the two photoshoots in a different post. I had Miku shot a few times by several different photographers, but I think I’m only going to upload the ones TheBigTog photographed on Blogspot. For the others, check out my deviantArt!

Ah should’ve updated this last week xD I’m just going to copy and paste what I wrote from my dA on here.

Note: All the links lead to dA accounts xD

Friday

  • I wore my Kurama cosplay this day! I was up all night working on finishing my cosplays, and due to my poor time management, I didn’t really get to work on the wig as much as I would have liked. I wanted to cut the bangs more, so I’m probably gonna end up doing that some time next month (since I still have summer classes..) and upload pictures! Or if I can find a photographer that’d be even better.. kekeke xDSo I ended up getting 2 hours of sleep. Woke up.. Didn’t start packing until like 9 AM.. >___> Went to the convention, got there around 1ish. My parents drove me and when we started getting near the Garden State Expo Center… Oh my gosh. I saw so many cosplayers walking around outside.. I got soo excited.

There’s not much to say about in the convention.. Haha yeah okay! xD A bunch of people asked for my picture. Met a few fan girls.. LOL Met a Yoko Kurama and a Hiei! My friend was supposed to cosplay as Hiei, but he said he didn’t get his costume in time. But I didn’t really mind, I was happy that I got to cosplay as Kurama xD Saw all my friends from college :] And my roomiee :iconfireburningbrightly: Uhmm.. yeah. Bought cat ears.. kekeke. xD And an AnimeNEXT t-shirt!Can’t remember what I did at night.. I went somewhere.. Oh! My friend wanted to go to the ‘How to Draw Yuri’ Panel xD I ended up leaving because I had to go get a needle to fix mah cosplays with.. >< Well.. just the ears for Pichu! There’s a bunch of inbetween stories but.. I don’t wanna make this epic entry more epic xD But to finish, I freaked out because I couldn’t get the Pichu ears on the headband without flopping! So I went to sleep.

Saturday

  • Woke up at 7, to do a photoshoot with :iconknightmare6:! Well the shoot was at 9AM xD Finally got my ears to semi-work, by pinning them to my head xD At one point they were perfect, then they slowly started drooping towards the end of the shoot. We shot with the Pikachu family! My two friends as Raichu and Pikachu, me as Pichu, :iconfireburningbrightly: as Minun, and :iconrockerneko: as Plusle!Did the photoshoot, then roamed. Roaming.. roaming.. My mom brought me mah Tifa outfit! :D Thennnn.. yeah.

Sunday

  • I’m so tired I don’t feel like typing anymore xD So I woke up at 7AM again and got ready. Did a photoshoot with :iconthebigtog: and :iconkoreanholic: as Yuffie! Had a ton of fun ^^ Then I was supposed to go to another FF photoshoot at 12:30 and I waited.. and :iconkoreanholic: and we waited a good 30-40 minutes. And then as I was leaving I met :iconlingering-tears: as Princess Garnet from FFIX :iconsylphinesbane: as ViVi from FFIX and Cloud from Advent Children, and a few others who’s dA I don’t know >< They wanted to do a shoot as well! So we ended up congregating outside xD So we had a Tifa, Vivi, Princess Garnet, Cloud, Yuffie, Yuna, Reno. I think that’s it? The most random assortment of FF people xD There ended up being a Lebreau later (from FFXIII). And another Yuffie, and some others xD

I saw :iconknightmare6: again! And he was half an hour early for a shoot, and we were talking. I told him about how there was supposed to be a FF shoot but no one showed up >< So he offered to take some pictures for us! So we had an epic Final Fantasy shoot with random crossovers xD It was a lot of fun! I hope everyone enjoyed it ^^

So yeah, that pretty much summed up my day. Went to the dealer’s room, bought a sword.. kekeke.. xD That I ended up giving to my dad for Father’s Day. OH MY GOSH. The last epic thing. I went to the artist alley because I saw this Lightning poster that I was absolutely in love with since the first day of the con. Before that I went to a stand next to my friend’s :iconraydiant: because our friend wanted to talk to him about something.

So I was just looking at his friend’s posters :iconprodigybombay: I was just looking through her portfolio. Her artwork was really beautiful and it definitely caught my eye, but in my mind I really wanted that Lightning poster so I wasn’t really planning on buy anything. Until I saw this.

Okay, if you’ve never played RebirthRO, you probably won’t have any idea what I’m talking about. But oh my gosh.. the moment I saw that poster.. I died.. And went to fangirl mode.. xD That picture was used in the MMORPG Rebirth Ragnarok in the menu, when you first open the game. I recognized it almost immediately and ahh.. I just had to have it xD When I used to play RO that picture always caught my eye. I thought it was beautiful and I wanted to find the actual picture, but that never really happened. xD

So ahh.. I bought it :] I asked her to sign it too! I feel really stupid asking her to sign it in the back though. No one’s gonna see it! >< Ahh well. I got the poster and met the girl who made it so that was good enough.

I went to go buy the Lightning poster, and it was 20$ but I was short and only had 14$ D: The artist alley was closing soon and the girl was so kind and let me buy the poster size for 14$ :D She doesn’t have a deviantArt though, because she said she doesn’t post her pictures online. So I’m rather reluctant to take a picture and show it.. ><

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES!!

But yeah! That’s all about my adventures! Or most of it at least ^^ Oh.. one last thing..

    FRUNDURDAY!

eBay Wig Review: cosplayanimewigs

cosplay, cosplayanimewigs, ebay, kurama, review, test, yu yu hakusho

My first year cosplaying and I needed a wig for my Kurama cosplay. This was my first time ordering a wig so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am very particular when it comes to details and colors. I wanted the perfect color for a Kurama wig and one that looked realistic, because his hair color is bright to begin with. I found one that I particularly liked.

Here’s the reference image of Kurama. I picked this one because it’s slightly darker than normal.

The wig I stumbled upon is from cosplayanimewigs.

I didn’t mind that it was curly because it was heat resistant as well. I prefer them to be heat resistant anyways because you never know when you need to straighten it, or curl it again.

I had a positive experience with this seller. The wig I received was a lot curlier than in this picture.

The color is almost exactly like the one in the picture. I really love the quality of it as well. It’s soft and feels like real human hair. They said it’s “Natural Heat Resistant Fiber.”

The shipping was fairly quickly as well. They shipped it on May 6th. I can’t remember the exact date I received it, but around the 14th, so it took about a week.

Rating: ★★★★☆/ 4.5 out of 5

Pros:
– Excellent Quality
– Shipped quickly
– Wonderful color, matches image
– Heat resistant
– Feels soft, like actual human hair.

Cons:
– No tracking number

Price: 32.99$ + free shipping = 32.99$
Item Location: Shanghai, China

Would I purchase from them again? Yes, I definitely would. I love the quality of wig and the way it looks.

If you wish to purchase this wig, search “Copper Red Hi-Temp Long Curly Wavy Cosplay Wig” in the eBay search bar, or look through cosplayanimewigs’s profile page.

EDIT (2/14/2011): I get asked questions about this wig all the time. As far as I know, the eBay seller I bought it from doesn’t sell it anymore. I sent them an e-mail asking if they sell it and I will update the reply! (You can find the same wig on their eBay, but the image is different, and the wig is a darker red.) If you searched the wig, you’ll find another seller that uses the same image as the one I bought it from. (Even the same watermark..) I can’t comment on the wig because I’ve never ordered from their store. Just make sure you check the name when you search it! The store I purchased from was “CosplayAnimeWigs.” The store that has the same image is “CosplayAnimeWig.”

EDIT (2/19/2011): I received a reply from the seller, and they said that there had been a listing error. The same wig can be purchased at the website! Located here. Click here for the wig link!

I need to begin updating more often.. The school year is almost over! It passed so quickly, only 3 more weeks left, then finals and summer! Haven’t made a tutorial in a while now @___@ I have the horrible habit of picking at my nails. They were nice and long and now they are short again ><

Cosplay Update

I will be going to AnimeNext! And cosplaying of course! I’m not sure if I’ll be getting a table yet, but hopefully I do! ^^ So the cosplay plan is;

  • Friday: Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho, and my friend’s boyfriend will be cosplaying as Hiei.
  • Saturday: Pichu from Pokemon, my roomie and her best friend are Plusle and Minun, my friend and her boyfriend (the same one cosplaying as Hiei) are cosplaying as Raichu and Pikachu respectively.
  • Sunday: This one is up in the air. It’s either Maka from Soul Eater or Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2. Maka is easy to do since I have a similar skirt and Rikku.. I like her hair xD But my mom wasn’t too keen on the idea because she wears a bikini top.

I will be making my own cosplays! Well.. with the help of my mom xD She said it’s practice since I’m going into Fashion Design in the fall. I’m going to use that as an excuse for her to let me cosplay as Rikku.. xD Hopefully, if I can, I want to join the Hall Cosplay Contest. I want to do one for Friday and one for Saturday, but then I can’t use the Maka cosplay since most of the stuff won’t be made..

School Update

I will be attending Philadelphia University next year for fashion design! I’m excited ^^ If I can, I’m going to take classes during the summer at FIT. Hmm.. I think that’s it for this section 😛

Blog Life – Youtube

Ahh slacking off here.. Need to work on this more often!

Hobby Life

So I’ve been working on charms for some time now. Haven’t been working on nail art as much as I’d like to, but ahh school work.. x____x If you want to check out what I’ve made, go to my deviantart! Hopefully I can sell them at conventions. I originally wanted to sell them online, but that’s kind of shaky at the moment.. But if anyone wants a commission, send me a message! ^^
